The following MCLLC faculty have published extensively in the research areas of second language acquisition and pedagogy:

Mingzhen Bao: Dr. Bao’s original research discoveries have focused on (1) speech prosody of tonal languages in East and Southeast Asia, (2) acoustic properties of under-documented languages in West Africa and Pamir Mountains, (3) behavioral and psycholinguistic studies of tonal acquisition and processing, and (4) teaching pedagogy in foreign language instruction. Stayc DuBravac: Dr. DuBravac's primary interest include second language acquisition, computer-assisted language learning, applied linguistics, electronic media and chaos and complexity theory. Takako Egi: Dr. Egi’s primary research interests include second language acquisition, Input and Interaction, Attention, Awareness, and Memory, Introspective Protocols and Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language. Wei Jiang: Ms. Jiang’s interests include teaching Chinese as a second language , Chinese language and culture, instructional strategies and best practices, students’ motivation factors and course climate and second language curriculum and online curriculum development. Milena Minkova: Dr. Minkova's research areas include: Latin Composition, Spoken Latin, Active Latin within different teaching methodologies. She is the author of several Latin textbooks. Terence Tunberg: Dr. Tunberg’s research interests include Latin Literature, Renaissance Studies, Latin Pedagogy and Active Latin. He was the founder of Conventiculum Latin or immersion seminar for Latin students and teachers, which has become a major event in world wide Latin circles. Together with Milena Minkova, he has written three books pertaining to the field of Latin pedagogy. He and Professor Minkova are the directors of Institute for Latin Studies, a graduate certificate course sequence at UK, which is a unique post-graduate curriculum in Latin in North America, and is ideally situated to train new Latin teachers who want to approach Latin actively.
