Biography

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, I came to the University of Kentucky for its well-known treatment of Latin as a spoken language, which I feel could really revitalize the field and show the world that the study of Latin and Greek isn't just about reading dusty old tomes!

I have studied at Northern Virginia Community College, where I earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts cum laude, and at the University of Mary Washington, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Studies with departmental honors and academic distinction. During my time at UMW, I wrote my senior thesis on the life of M. Porcius Cato (son of Cato the Younger) and the effects familial ties would have had on his decision to side with M. Brutus in the civil war following Caesar's assassination.

My academic interests include (but are not limited to) Latin composition, philology, and the politics of the Late Republic.

I look forward to my time here at UK and to improving my knowledge of Latin and Greek!
