Michaela Culley is a current graduate student in German Studies, as well as one of the teaching assistants for German 201. She completed her bachelor's degree in German and International Studies at Washington & Jefferson College in 2018, where she returns in summers to serve as the assistant director to the Fulbright Germany Summer Seminar hosted there. During her undergraduate studies, she completed an internship assisting in middle school German classes alongside completing an independent study project on the use of German children's literature in the classroom. Since her graduation, she has participated in a year long English teaching assistantship in Innsbruck, Austria through Fulbright Austria. In support of her graduate studies, Michaela was awarded the National Award for Outstanding Senior Scholarship from Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Society. She was also a recipient of the Max Kade Fellowship from the University of Kentucky for the 2019-20 academic year. When she is not reading old German literature, she enjoys playing with her dog, drinking tea, and planning her upcoming trip overseas.
