Scholarships for Currently Enrolled Students
The College of Arts & Sciences and the University offer a limited number of academic scholarships for currently enrolled students:
Scholarships for Incoming Students
The Robert B. and Helen P. Jewell Scholarship is a $10,000 annual scholarship, renewable for up to four years that is awarded to one incoming English major with unmet financial need. Students must be Kentucky residents, in the top 20% of their graduating class (if ranked), and have minimum ACT or converted SAT score of 26. Students choosing test-optional must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.0. In addition to the scholarship application, students must submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from an English teacher) and two essays of approximately 500 words. The topics of the essays are:
- Why have you chosen to pursue an English degree?
- Describe your financial situation and the ways in which a scholarship from the Jewell Foundation will help fund your education.
