Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards

  • The Ryland-MacKinnon-Mynear Travel/Study Grant is an award of $500-1000 for an undergraduate French and Francophone Studies major to travel to or study in France or another Francophone country during the summer or academic year. Applicants must return the completed application to Dr. Jeorg Ellen Sauer (jeorg.sauer@uky.edu; 1055 POT) by April 1 of current Academic Year. Download application here.
  • The Willa Mae Shearer Squifflet Scholarship in French Studies is an award of $200-500 for an undergraduate French and Francophone Studies major who has obtained junior or senior status and demonstrates financial need.
  • The Zembrod Scholarship is a $500-1000 merit award granted annually to an outstanding French and Francophone Studies major who plans to return to the University of Kentucky the next academic year to complete undergraduate study. Applicants must return the completed application to Dr. Jeorg Ellen Sauer (jeorg.sauer@uky.edu; 1055 POT) by April 1 of current Academic Year.  Download application here.
  • The Dr. Alpharetta B. Archer Foreign Language Scholarship is an award of $200-500 for a graduate student in French and Francophone Studies.
