All students are required to complete the following for the Master's degree in German:
- 30 hours of graduate credit, of which 24 must be in courses with the GER prefix
- Graduate foreign language requirement
- a written and oral examination
Courses taken to fulfill the second foreign language requirement do not count towards the completion of the 30 hours of graduate course work.
At least half of students' course work has to be at the 600 level or above in courses with the German course prefix. Students are required to take at least one German course during each semester they are enrolled in the German graduate program.
Each semester students select from available courses in consultation with the graduate studies advisor.
For a complete list of courses offered by the Department, see the UK Graduate School Bulletin.
