Terms & Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to be eligible, at the time of application, an applicant must be:

  1. A U.S. citizen.
  2. An undergraduate or graduate student on track to commission through the Army, Naval, or Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), contracted or non-contracted, at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.

Overseas Participants

In order to be eligible to participate in a Project GO overseas program, for the duration of the program successful applicants must:

  1. Remain in ROTC for the duration of the program.
  2. Not be commissioned officers.
  3. Be in an inactive, non-drilling status.
  4. Not be employed by the U.S. federal government or any foreign government.

Not Eligible for Project GO:

  • Non-U.S. citizens
  • Active duty military members (not participating in ROTC)
  • Navy Seaman to Admiral Program members
  • Officer Candidate School participants
  • JROTC students
  • Service academy students
  • Federal government employees

Selection:

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of merit. Review panels will review the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Language experience
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Leadership
  • Commitment to Project GO mission
  • Diversity

Language Prerequisites:

No language experience is required for applicants applying for year 1 of the program.

Applicants must have completed ONE YEAR of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) before starting year 2 of the program. 

Applicants must have completed TWO YEARS of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) before starting year 3 of the program.
