I am a scholar of religion in the ancient Mediterranean. My research focuses on Jewish literary production in Greek and Roman contexts, with a particular interest in Jewish biblical reception. I situate my research at the intersection of Jewish Studies and Classics, predicating my scholarship on the premise that Jews (and early Christians) were fully integrated participants in classical Greek and Roman culture. I am also interested in the formulation of Jewish identity and in Judaism and gender. I came to the University of Kentucky in 2025.
I currently teach courses on Biblical Hebrew language, the Bible and other ancient Jewish texts, and early Christianity. I teach two classes per semester in Hebrew & Jewish Studies and one class per semester in Classics.
