Kretel Arzola
Teaching Assistant

Kretel Arzola is a first-year grad student in Hispanic Studies at the University of Kentucky. She earned her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Lee University, where she also gained experience teaching Spanish and conducting research as a McNair Scholar on bilingual education and immigration. Her current research interests focus on the cultural and historical interconnections between Cuba, Spain, and Africa, with particular attention to language, mixed-race identities, and history.
Outside of her academic work, Kretel enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, exploring literature and art, and engaging with projects that build bridges across cultures.
