Classics @ Kentucky
Classics at UK does not stop with Greece and Rome. Study mythology and religion, ancient history and philosophy, Latin and Ancient Greek and the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean world. Then follow the classical tradition beyond antiquity, from Medieval and Renaissance Latin to the reception of Greek and Roman Classics in American, European, Asian and African Diaspora literature.
We also have the Classics Club.
Ancient texts meet new technology: the Herculaneum Papyri
UK is home to groundbreaking work on the Herculaneum papyri, ancient scrolls carbonized by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. Classics students have opportunities to gain experience in digital humanities through internships assisting with the Herculaneum Papyri project in engineering.
